THE WAIT IS OVER - THE HILLWOOD ROCK CLIMBING AREA REOPENS

The Hillwood Rock Climbing Area is arguably the best sport climbing crag in Tasmania. There are over 150 routes of excellent quality, with unrivalled accessibility. The highly featured rock is a change from the vertical dolerite found elsewhere around northern Tasmania and the cliffs face all directions making it climbable most of the year.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Access times are daylight hours from dawn to dusk.

Users of this area do so at their own risk and take full responsibility for their own safety.

George Town Council does not inspect or maintain the climbing hardware. If you notice any damaged or missing hardware, please contact the Northern Climbers Club of Tasmania on ncct7250@gmail.com.

Vehicles must remain on the designated roadway and only park in designated carparks.

Users must not trespass into the neighboring farmland or interfere with livestock.

Please use the toilet and rubbish bins provided.

OVERNIGHT STAYS PROHIBITED

Including camping, caravans, campervans, placement of temporary structures, shelters or tents.

FIRES PROHIBITED

Including campfires, barbeques and gas stoves.

WOOD COLLECTING PROHIBITED

Including cutting trees or collecting fallen wood.

ANIMALS/PETS PROHIBITED

Including all domestic animals and livestock.
